1. Who We Are

LekhaScan is an Android application published by Dabobroto Sarkar ("we", "us", "our"). For the purposes of applicable data protection law, we are the data controller for the limited processing described in this policy.

2. Information We Collect

Documents and images. LekhaScan performs optical character recognition entirely on your device. The photographs you capture, the text recognised from them, and the PDF and Word files produced are processed locally and are never transmitted to us. We operate no server capable of receiving them, and we do not collect, store, or have access to your documents at any time.

Generated files are saved to the Downloads/LekhaScan folder on your device and remain under your sole control.

Account information. LekhaScan requires no account, login, or registration. We do not collect your name, email address, or phone number.

3. Information Collected by Third Parties

Advertising (Google AdMob)

LekhaScan is provided free of charge and is supported by advertising delivered through Google AdMob. The Google Mobile Ads SDK is integrated into the app and collects the following automatically:

• Device and account identifiers, including the Android Advertising ID
• IP address, from which approximate location may be derived
• User interactions with advertisements, such as impressions and clicks
• Device information, including device model and operating system version
• Diagnostic information, including crash logs and performance data

This information is collected and processed by Google, not by us, and is used for advertising, analytics, and fraud prevention. We do not receive it, and we do not sell or share personal information with any other third party.

In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, the app asks for your consent before personalised advertisements are shown. You can change or withdraw your answer at any time under Settings → Privacy choices in the app.

Google's handling of this data is governed by the Google Advertising Privacy Policy. You may reset or delete your Android Advertising ID at any time through Settings → Privacy → Ads on your device, or opt out of advertising personalisation entirely from the same screen.

Crash reports and usage statistics (Google Firebase)

To find and fix problems, and to understand which features are used, the app uses Firebase Crashlytics and Google Analytics for Firebase. They collect:

• Crash reports: the state of the app when it crashed, the device model and the operating system version
• Usage events, such as that a scan was started, that text recognition finished and in which language, that a file was saved or shared, and whether an advertisement was shown
• A random identifier for this installation of the app, and the approximate country, derived from your IP address

These never include your photographs, the text recognised from them, or the names or contents of your files. We see this information only as crash reports and aggregated statistics in the Firebase console. It is not used to personalise advertising, and in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland usage statistics are stored only if you have agreed to storage on your device. 4. Network Connections

LekhaScan connects to the internet for the following purposes only:

• Language data. The Bangla and English text recognition models are included in the app. Only if they are missing or damaged does the app download them again from the publicly hosted Tesseract OCR project. No information about you or your device is sent as part of this request.
• Advertising. To request and display advertisements, as described in section 3.
• Crash reports and usage statistics. As described in section 3.

5. Permissions We Request

• Camera. To photograph the documents you choose to scan.
• Internet and network state. For the purposes in section 4.
• Storage and media access. To save the PDF and Word files you create to your device's Downloads folder.

Each permission is requested at the point it is first needed, and the app explains why before asking.

6. Data Retention

We do not store personal data on any server of our own. Usage statistics are kept by Google Analytics for up to 14 months and crash reports by Firebase Crashlytics for up to 90 days, after which they are deleted automatically. Data collected by Google for advertising purposes is retained in accordance with Google's own retention policies.

7. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict the processing of your personal data, and to object to processing or withdraw consent.

The app has no accounts, and the crash reports and usage statistics we receive are linked only to a random installation identifier, not to your name or any other detail that identifies you. Clearing the app's data or reinstalling it replaces that identifier. In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland you can change or withdraw your consent under Settings → Privacy choices. To exercise rights over advertising data, use the Google controls described in section 3. If you contact us at the address above, we will assist you in directing your request to the appropriate party.

8. Children's Privacy

LekhaScan is not directed at children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through this app, please contact us and we will take appropriate action.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. If we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above and publish the amended policy at this address before the changes take effect. Material changes will be made clear within the app.
